Ego Boost (like I needed it :)
Last May I followed a co-workers advise by sending my resume to as many game companies as I could thing of to ask ‘what would you like to see on the ideal resume’. Having received responses from only a couple, I didn’t give it much more though.
However, last Wednesday I get an email from the tech recruiter at Sony Imageworks.

Dear pet
Thanx to Rhoda for sending me this!
Dear pet(s),
The dishes with the paw print are yours and contain your food. The other dishes are mine and contain my food. Please note, placing a paw print in the middle of my plate of food does not stake a claim for it becoming your food and dish, nor do I find that aesthetically pleasing in the slightest.
The stairway was not designed by NASCAR and is not a racetrack. Beating me to the bottom is not the object. Tripping me doesn't help because I fall faster than you can run.

Purpose Driven Life
My co-worker, Sember, and I were making fun of a self-help book that another co-worker's grandma had bought for him.
Today when I came in...

Computers will be able to out-think the entire world population put together within the next 60 years, the head of Lucent's research division has forecast.
First, though, phones will be able to tell how their owners smell, Jeong Kim, Bell Labs' president told reporters in Seoul yesterday.
Kim's comments, conveyed by local paper Joong Ang Daily, make scary reading.

And Now For a Joke...
The Baptist Bra
A man walked into the Women's Department of Macy's in New York City. He told the saleslady, "I would like a Baptist bra for my wife, size 36B."
With a quizzical look the saleslady asked, "What kind of bra?"
He repeated, "A Baptist Bra. She said to tell you that she wanted a Baptist Bra, and that you would know what she wanted."
"Ah, now I remember," said the saleslady. "We don't get as many requests for them as we used to. Mostly our customers lately want the Catholic bra, or the Salvation Army bra, or the Presbyterian type."
Confused, and a little flustered, the man asked "So, what are the ! differences?"
The lady responded. "It is all really quite simple. The Catholic type supports the masses. The Salvation Army lifts up the fallen, and the Presbyterian type keeps them staunch and upright."
He mused on that information for a minute, and asked "So, what is the Baptist type for?"
"They," she replied, "make mountains out of molehills

Who will pity the soulless Republican Party now that Katrina is mauling their regime?

Can you hear that? That low scraping moan, that painful scream, that compressed hissing wail like the sound of an angry alligator caught in a vice?
Why, it's the GOP, and they're screaming, "No, no it can't be, oh my God, please no, this damnable Katrina thing is just an unstoppable PR disaster for us!"
After all (they wail), who woulda thought dissing all those poor black people and letting so many of them die in filth and misery in the Superdome while our pampered CEO president enjoyed yet another vacation would cause such an ugly backlash, such harsh criticism of the glorious, rich-über-alles GOP creed?

Motorcycles must be invisible!
I can't think of any other way to understand why I almost get run over on a daily basis.
I think of myself as a good rider. I don't speed much (if any), I ride furthest away from traffic as I can, look both ways before entering an intersection. I pay VERY close attention to what every other dumb ass on the road is/isn't doing.
But it never fails, I am not seen.
Monday I was on my way to school. I had just gotten off of Amnicola Hwy and was about to cross 4th street.

GRE - over and done!!!
So I took the dreaded GRE test today. It was a horrible experience.
PLUS, they made me take my freakin’ hat off before I entered the room THEN took a picture of me. I mean, for me, hat = bad hair day. So I was devastated.
But I did well on the test.
My stress and anxiety level was at an all-time high. So I didn’t do as well as I had hoped, but I made well above the required score for the UCF. Which is all that matters. So now I can put that stress behind me.
