It's ALL been worth it
I just finished my second week at EA and every day it just keeps getting better!
On the first day, I was made to feel like part of the team and my tasks are far from trivial. I expected to get some ‘keep the noob busy’ work, but I couldn’t have been more wrong. I obviously can’t talk about what I’m working on per the Non-Disclosure Agreement, but I can say that I am doing game play features for Madden NFL 08 and NCAA 08 for PS3 and XBOX 360. Just some small notes, EA is the 4th largest software company in the world and USA Today Reports that Madden 07 ranked 1st and 9th on the top selling games of 2006 (1st place was Madden 07 for the PS2 and 9th place was Madden 07 for the 360).
The atmosphere here rocks, and I’ve made some new friends. I am even participating in a Magic: The Gathering tournament that some of the employees put together (after work of course). I even have to force myself to leave at night because I can’t get over-time at this point. Even without any OT, my first week’s paycheck about made me choke. :)
This is by far the coolest job in the world. I am surrounded by some of the smartest people that I have ever met and I’m living my dream!
Going to FIEA was the best thing that has ever happened to me, period.
